Ingredients:
- Citrus aurantium (Bergamot) fruit juice extract 500mg, derived from fresh juice 75g
- Cynara scolymus (Globe artichoke) leaf extract 60mg, derived from fresh leaf 3g
Direction of Use:
Adults: Take 1 tablet, twice daily, before main meals, or as directed by your health professional.
Notes:
Does not contain egg, milk, peanut, soy, tree nuts, animal products, gluten, lactose or artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Caution with cholesterol-lowering medication – may have additive effects.
Caution with hypoglycaemic medication – may have additive effects.
Caution with colchicine (used in Gout) – Bergamot has been found to cause a small decrease in blood concentrations of the drug.
Caution with dextromethorphan (decongestant/antitussive) – Bergamot may increase drug absorption, which may increase the risk of side effects.
CAUTIONS:
Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding due to a lack of safety data.
Contraindicated with bile duct obstruction.
Caution in individuals with severe hepatocellular disease, septic cholycystitis, intestinal spasm or ileus, or unconjugated hyperbilirubinaemia.
Contraindicated in individuals allergic to Asteraceae/Compositae (Daisy) family.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Globe artichoke is generally well tolerated. Mild symptoms of flatulence, hunger and weakness have been reported in 1% of participants in a study.
